An actuating cylinder can attach to the axis of a Slider joint or the slider part of the Prismatic/Rotoide joint (PR). It maintains the position of one rigid body with respect to another along the axis. Actuating cylinders can be subject to firm constraints (scroll screws, hydraulic screws) or light constraints (air pressure). They are driven by position.
