Creating a project

Create a minimal project including a world and a configuration.

The project can be created automatically (minimum project), or step by step starting with an empty project.

Create a project automatically:

Description 
Run Marilou.exe 
Select Marilou.exe in the Windows Start menu. 
Menu File -> New
 
Creates a new project. A window is displayed, prompting you to save the project in a file. Choose the target folder and name the file myproject.msdp
In the New Project dialog-box, choose basic project. The wizard will create a project with a world file (.mworld file) and a default configuration. 
 

 

Create a project step by step:

The steps to build our first model are shown in the table below. Please follow these steps in order.

Run Marilou.exe 
Select Marilou.exe in the Windows Start menu. 
Menu File -> New
 
Creates a new project. A window is displayed, prompting you to save the project into a file. Choose the target folder and name the file myproject.msdp. In the New Project dialog-box, choose empty project
 
After the file has been saved, the Explorer area (on the left) shows default folders.

 
Right-click on the World folder and select Add New World

 
Select "world" as the file name, using the same folder as your project. This file will contain data related to your virtual world.

 
When you choose the world file, Marilou displays four graphical views that you will use for creating models. Please note that the "Add" panel now contains the various geometries that you may import into the world.
 
 
Right-click on the Configurations folder and select Add New Simulation Configuration

 
This action creates a configuration. Simulation is always run from a configuration. 
In Execute world,choose the world that you just created: 

 
Switch from Run mode to Pause for greater flexibility. 
 
Close the configuration document and save the project.
 
The project, default world, and configuration are now created and referenced by the project.
